2 Day Workshop

Dates: 3rd & 4th of May 2025

Time: 9.00am - 4.00pm on Saturday / 9.00am- 3.30pm on Sunday

What to Bring:

All materials are supplied - please just bring an apron.

Included: Morning tea, lunch, nibbles with gin and tonic around the firepit on Saturday night.

Join Cath from the Happenstore for a wonderful two days at Essington Park.

After a delicious morning tea and welcome from Simmone, join Cath in our woolshed workshop space to learn the magic and mystery of indigo and textile painting florals onto linen, followed with stitching.

Cath will talk a little about her journey with textiles and design and then we will get stuck in to a fun and creative day.

All materials are supplied so you don’t have to worry about a thing, just show up and have fun!

We will be making a cushion cover that is hand painted and then embroidered onto. Covering a few textile mediums, indigo and textile paint, Cath will show you how to successfully develop your ideas and apply them to the linen. We will be looking at a botanical collection of flowers and foliage to draw inspiration from.

We will end our wonderful day with locally distilled gin and tonic around our fire pit.

The next stage is the embroidery … you will be given a hand printed sampler to work into, alongside your painted piece. We will discover and rediscover various stitches and other fun and interesting techniques whilst sitting by the fire. This wil be a truly wonderful 2 days of discovery and making and chatting and laughing… can’t wait to see you!

About Cath:

From John Caldor in the 80’s to Art Park in the 0’s to Prints Charming and Original Fabrics in the 2000’s, I’ve been a textile designer for a long and wonderful time! Today I share my passion through commissions, workshops, and bespoke fabric and artisan projects.

Each week brings new ideas and new product and now new happenings…

Come and join me to make, to learn, and be inspired!

Cath xx

***Whilst we will do our very best to hold each workshop, we are a small creative business and reserve the right to cancel a workshop with a full refund if we are unable to proceed.
